xf 18mm f2
this is the lens i should have gotten right from the get-go when i switched to the fuji x system from m43. its small and perfect for street photography. before i bought this lens i had been mainly using the xf18-55mm and found i rarely zoomed beyond 18-27mm. the lens was a steal at $310 from a vendor in hong kong who had the lens at my front door in less than two days. i sold my rarely used xf 35mm to fund the switch and came out with quite a bit of spare change.
soligor c/d 24mm f2.8, konica ar mount
lovely little 36mm equivalent lens from soligor. bought from keh for about a twentieth of the cost of the xf 23mm. no dust, scratches, no fungus, an amazingly good condition lens. these shots were all taken at f8 to take advantage of the zone focusing while walking from my home to the post office and back. images have not been cropped.
xf 27mm f2.8
a wonderful pancake that has me wishing it was a little faster, say f2. i've ditched the 35mm f1.4 for this lens and have had no regrets. the focal length is just a little longer then the 'desirable for street' 35mm, but then its also hundreds of dollars cheaper and not as obtrusive as fuji's xf 23mm f1.4. generally the lens is pretty sharp corner to corner, but then i'm not one to fret about such issues. this has become the lens most often on the xe1. reviews have pointed out that there is no aperture ring lie the other fuji xf lenses, but using the wheel on the body is not an issue. the only negatives i have about this lens are i wish it was faster, like f2, and no lens hood was included - i did pick up a 3rd party hood, but found that when its attached, you cannot put the lens cap back on, you have to remove the hood.
